This exquisite vintage brooch from the 1940s is a hand-crafted sterling silver filigree butterfly with a rich gold vermeil finish. Made by Topázio, a renowned Portuguese silversmithing house, the piece features beautifully detailed openwork wings with delicate scrolls, lace-like wirework, and a sculpted body.
The circular cartouche on the back is stamped TOPAZIO • PORTUGAL • 0925, confirming sterling silver content and origin. The long, slightly extended pin with a rolling C clasp is consistent with early-mid 20th century construction. A lovely example of Portuguese filigree artistry, cherished by collectors for its intricacy and Old-World craftsmanship.
