Boucher #6649 Rhinestone Brooch Earrings Set, Clear Rhinestones, Gold Plated, 1950s Vintage Jewelry

*Description: This is a beautiful set of Boucher mid-century jewelry which includes a brooch and clip on earrings from the 1950s. The brooch and earrings have a textured feather design with clear pave rhinestones running along the center. Each piece is stamped BOUCHER all in caps and one of the earrings has the numbers 6649. When photographing I found one tiny clear rhinestone missing on the brooch near the bottom of one feather. It was not obvious because the silver lining underneath acts as a reflection. It would be easy to replace if desired but is hardly noticeable. See photos for details. All of the pieces are gold plated and and would look beautiful with any favorite outfit. This would be a great addition to your vintage jewelry collection or make a great vintage gift!

Marcel Boucher was born in France and was trained under Cartier for fine jewelry. He moved to New York in the 1930s where he designed shoe buckles for Mazer Brothers. He opened his own business in 1937 to sell his costume jewelry. Marcel passed away in 1965 but his wife Sandra Semensohn, continued the operation for several more years. The Boucher hallmark was last used in the 1970s. In Costume Jewelry 101 by Julia C Carroll, she states that “Boucher jewelry is almost always in good condition. It was so well made that it is rarely found with damaged hardware or hard to repair damage.”

*Condition: Very good vintage condition. One missing clear rhinestone on brooch. Easy to replace if desired. Will see signs of wear under magnification. See photos for details.
