*Description: This is a beautiful Mother of Pearl BOUCHER necklace and bracelet set. A related pin and earrings are listed in Costume Jewelry 101, page 124, by Julia C. Carroll. She explains that this was an unusual set for Boucher which used mother of pearl discs within his design. The necklace and bracelet are both signed BOUCHER and each have their own inventory numbers: 5615 on bracelet & 5607 on necklace. These two items were made between 1950 and 1955 when he used BOUCHER all in caps with no copyright symbol. The numbers were inventory numbers of his work. Apparently, he used these numbers to give him the approximate date of his work also in a type of coding. If you are looking for a unique and beautiful necklace and bracelet from a famous designer, this demi-parure set is a great one.
