*Description: This is a beautiful Krementz bangle hinged bracelet with a safety chain which is made with 14K rolled gold overlay from the 1940s to 1950s. The bracelet has a textured surface and engraved vine and leaves. The tongue on the clasp has KREMENTZ stamped inside. The bracelet is in great condition. This would be a great addition to your vintage jewelry collection or make a great vintage gift! A 1965 advertisement for Krementz jewelry reads like this: “In the tradition of precious jewelry - For those who appreciate finer things, Krementz creates treasures of timeless beauty. Lasting loveliness is assured by the heavy OVERLAY of 14Kt. GOLD that has much of the wearing quality and all of the rich beauty of solid gold.”
Krementz was founded in 1866, but did not begin to produce large amounts of costume jewelry until the late 1950s. Krementz sold the costume jewelry business in 1997. The most collectible Krementz costume jewelry is signed “Krementz” in all capital letters. This mark may be on the pin stem or in other hard to see places.
