*Description: This is a sterling silver bracelet, brooch, and screwback earrings with black enamel from the 1930s. Siam's name was officially changed to Thailand in 1939. These pieces have never been worn but have natural patina on the silver. This would be a great addition to your vintage jewelry collection or make a great vintage gift!
*Reference: Brief history of the designs: It is technically Niello or Nielloware, created by carving out areas of the silver, and baking a sulfur/metals powder in the carved out areas. The design often displays Mekkala, the Goddess of Lightning, and represents the Thai version (The Ramakien) of the Buddhist and Hindu Indian legend, Ramayama, about a prince, his wife, his parents (King and Queen of Siam), and the evil king of Ceylon. *Approximate Measurements: The bracelet is on the smaller side at 6 3/8 inches; which when measured, does not include the clasp. The vintage earrings are 1 1/4 Inches long and are screw-back; also signed Siam "Sterling". The pin or brooch is 2 inches wide. Weight: 1.7 ounces.
*Condition: Great vintage condition. The set was never worn but there is patina on the silver in various places. I gave it a quick polish with a jewelry cloth. There may be wear from the set rubbing against other jewelry in the jewelry box but no obvious flaws other than patina on the silver.
*Hallmark: Sterling Made in Siam
