*Description: This is a beautiful rare Hattie Carnegie triangular brooch with clear rhinestones and faux pearls on a gold plated pave' rhinestone background from the 1950s. The brooch is stamped with the designer's name in script on the back. The thick plating is covered with clear pave' rhinestones and keeps the brooch secure and beautiful. Born in 1886, Hattie Carnegie began her jewelry line in 1939 and continued through 1970. In 1939, she began marketing jewelry to coordinate with her fashions. Many talented artists designed Carnegie jewelry. Some of the best loved Carnegie pieces are from her theme collections. Her most common marks are “Hattie Carnegie” in script, “Carnegie”, and “HC” in a diamond oval frame, which is rare. Carnegie passed away in 1956 but her jewelry continued to be manufactured until 1970. This information was shared in Julia C Carroll’s book Costume Jewelry 101.
