*Description: This is a gorgeous Weiss aurora borealis rhinestone bracelet with white milk glass cabochons from the 1960s. The bracelet is rhodium plated and is stamped WEISS on the clasp. The width in the center is 1 1/8 Inches and it is reduced in width as it moves towards the clasp. Each of the center aurora borealis rhinestones, chaton cut, are prong set in a dog-toothed style which means there are a large number of prongs moving around the rhinestone which leaves it securely in place. Each of the white milk glass cabochons move out from the center and look like petals or leaves.
This would be a great addition to your vintage jewelry collection or make a great vintage gift!

Weiss was founded in 1942 and ceased operations in 1971. Albert Weiss gained experience by working at Coro and then founded in 1942. Most of the Weiss jewelry is made of high quality Austrian rhinestones and timeless designs.

According to Julia C Carroll in Costume Jewelry 303, some Weiss pieces were designed and manufactured by DeLizza and Elster, Inc, to be sold under the Weiss trademark. Weiss used a wide variety of rhinestones, art glass in some designs and usually prong set stones. They usually used heavy silver or gold tone plating. Some Japanned metal designs and a few colorful enamel designs. Signature was stamped into the metal, part of the mold, or on a raised cartouche.
