West Germany Vintage Brooch Earrings Twin Pins Set, Portrait Transfer Glass Gold Tone

*Description: This is a great Western Germany cameo portrait jewelry set with a large oval brooch, matching clip on earrings, and two square matching pins from the 1960s. The beautiful lady in the portrait is displayed on each item using what is referred to as transfer ware. Each piece is marked Western Germany and was in circulation in the 1950s to 1960s. It is very unique to have five individual pieces of the same set. This would be a great addition to your vintage jewelry collection or make a great vintage gift!

After WWII, Germany was divided into four sectors: American, British, French, and Soviet. In 1946, there was a guarded border between West Germany and East Germany. Then in 1952, the border between the two was closed until it was reopened again in 1989. Due to the history, it is possible to date some of the jewelry made in Germany. Jewelry made before 1949 is marked GERMANY, but jewelry made after that time up until 1990, is marked WEST GERMANY. Jewelry made after 1990 is again marked GERMANY.

The most collectible marked W. Germany pieces are jewelry sets: pins and earrings, or necklaces and earrings made of elaborate filigree metal and decorated with tiny colorful beads and pearls.

*Condition: Great vintage condition. Each piece looks great. There is something on the clear coat on one of the square pins from being in a jewelry box. May see signs of wear under magnification due to age. See photos for details.
